The weather pattern is forecast to shift colder by early March as ridging builds over Greenland leading to a strong negative phase of the North Atlantic Oscillation. That teleconnection set up will help usher across cold air from Canada down and across the U.S. during early march. Most anomalous cold will be located over the Rockies, Upper Plains and Midwest while Texas and East Coast trend from above normal to more seasonal levels.
