Although based in Connecticut, many members of our leadership team have relocated great distances to become a part of Crius Energy. Together, they bring more than a century of combined industry and functional expertise as well as a deep-rooted passion for transforming the retail energy sector.

Executive Team

Michael Fallquist , Chief Executive Officer , ,

Before becoming President and CEO of Crius Energy, Michael Fallquist successfully raised the equity and debt capital necessary to launch Regional Energy Holdings, Inc. (REH), the company he founded in 2009 to manage a portfolio of energy service companies. Earlier that same year, Michael also founded Viridian Energy – now one of the top 50 direct selling companies worldwide.

Prior to his role as CEO and President of REH, Michael served as the chief operating officer of Commerce Energy, a publicly listed natural gas and electricity retailer serving more than 150,000 customers in multiple states. Before joining Commerce Energy, Michael worked for the Macquarie Group in Australia and in the United States, where he gained valuable experience as a member of the innovative Central Executive Strategy Group, and in various energy trading roles within Macquarie Cook Energy.

Michael earned an MBA from Cornell University and a B.A. in Economics from Colgate University. He was named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® 2012 award winner in New York, Cleantech category.

Roop S. Bhullar , Chief Financial Officer , ,

In his current role of CFO, Roop Bhullar is responsible for all aspects of finance, accounting and treasury with the overall goal of growing the business in a profitable and sustainable manner.

Prior to joining Crius Energy, Roop was the finance director of Commerce Energy, a publicly traded retail energy provider with more than 150,000 customers in 10 states, where he was responsible for the accounting, treasury and financial planning, and analysis functions. Before Commerce Energy, Roop worked as the financial controller of King Country Energy, a publicly traded electric supplier and as a tax manager at Deloitte, where he provided consulting advice to energy clients and co-headed up the specialist M&A group.

Roop earned two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Waikato in New Zealand, in Management Studies (accounting) and Laws (corporate and commercial law), and an MBA in Finance & Strategy from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Barbara Clay , Chief Legal Officer , ,

Barbara brings more than 18 years of legal experience to her job as Chief Legal Officer; she is responsible for all aspects of the company’s legal, compliance and corporate communication functions.

Prior to joining Crius Energy, Barbara was Vice President and Senior Counsel at MasterCard where she created the M&A legal function and assisted the newly formed public company to create a proper best in class Board and Governance function and SEC filing program. Prior to MasterCard, Barbara was Counsel at Boies, Schiller & Flexner in Manhattan where she concentrated on complex corporate matters, contractual issues and M&A. At Boies, she assisted her client, Caithness Energy, to win a 30-year PPA from LIPA and to build a 350-megawatt natural gas power plant in Bellport Long Island.

Barbara earned two degrees from Rutgers University, a bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences and a master's degree in Environmental Sciences that she attained through a graduate fellowship in the Biochemical and Chemical Engineering Department. Barbara earned her J.D. at Pace Law School, with a certificate in Environmental Law.

Chaitu Parikh , Chief Operating Officer , ,

Chaitu Parikh is Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for Crius Energy’s business development activities. A 19-year veteran of the retail energy industry, Chaitu complements our Management Team’s ongoing efforts to grow Crius Energy through consolidation within the industry and maximize the potential of our family-of-brands platform.

Prior to joining Crius Energy, Chaitu spent ten years with MXenergy, a leading supplier of power, natural gas and energy products and services for homes and businesses across North America, where he served as Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer before being appointed President and CEO in 2011. His accomplishments included developing business strategy, acquisition and integration of several different businesses, overseeing risk management and responsibility for a multi-office operation with locations throughout North America.

Chaitu earned a B.A. in economics from the University of Toronto. Chaitu also holds a CPA designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.

Rob Cantrell , Executive Vice President, Deregulated Energy , ,

Rob brings a wealth of retail energy industry expertise as well as more than 20 years of sales and marketing leadership to his role overseeing the company’s deregulated electricity and natural gas businesses in the U.S. Prior to joining Crius, Rob was President and Chief Operating Officer for TriEagle Energy where he directed the team that grew the company for more than 10 years.

Earlier in his career, Rob directed business development activities for one of the largest wireless distributors in the country, where he helped countless independent dealers maximize their sales and create thriving retail businesses. Rob earned an MBA from the University of Georgia and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of North Carolina.

Christian McArthur , Executive Vice President , ,

As Executive Vice President of Solar Energy and Energy Procurement, Christian McArthur draws upon more than a decade of industry experience to lead Crius’ full-service solar business and ensure competitive wholesale energy procurement for Crius Energy and its family of brands. A leader in energy trading, risk management, customer analytics and forecasting, Christian led two strategic solar acquisitions and launched Crius Solar, a vertically integrated solar and retail energy brand.

Prior to joining Crius Energy, Christian was a Senior Vice President at Just Energy where he oversaw energy supply operations for all North American businesses. In this role, Christian led trading, risk management, customer analytics and forecasting during Just Energy’s expansion from three to 20 markets across North America, serving more than four million customers. He was also successful at new product development and innovating new revenue streams.

Christian earned a Master of Applied Science degree from the University of Waterloo in Canada and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from Queen's University.

Pat McCamley , Executive Vice President, Corporate Development , ,

Pat brings more than 20 years of corporate and business development experience to his role as Executive Vice President, leading the company’s new business development efforts across all markets.
He was critical in the onboarding of Comcast, FairPoint and Cincinnati Bell as strategic energy distribution partners.
Prior to his role at Crius, Pat served as Partner in the private equity firm Skyline Partners and was Director of New Business Development for Siemens AG and an executive at Convergys Corporation.
He holds degrees from Pennsylvania State University and is a frequent speaker at industry events around the world.

Ravi Thuraisingham , Executive Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions , ,

In his current role as Executive Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions, Ravi Thuraisingham is responsible for identifying acquisition targets, deal structuring and negotiation, as well as overseeing integration for all acquired entities across Crius Energy’s family of brands.

Prior to joining Crius Energy, Ravi was the co-founder, CEO and Chairman of LightWing Inc., an innovative residential solar energy sales and technology platform provider which was later acquired by SunEdison Inc. Prior to that, Ravi served as President and Chief Financial Officer of American Solar Direct Inc. (ASD), and founded one of the industry’s first structured finance funds, growing it from USD $50 million capacity to USD $250 million in just three years.

Ravi earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Toronto and holds a CFA Charter. He is an advisory Board member of the University of Toronto’s Engineering Science Program.
